Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This peculiar gemstone radiates with arcane alteration, bearing magic from far away. Upon taking damage from a spell, you can change the damage type of the incoming attack to another type of your choosing. You can repeat this feature a number of times equal to twice your proficiency bonus before needing to wait until dawn. At dawn, all uses of the feature are restored.

Additionally, you gain a +1 to your spell attack bonus and your spell save DC.

Lore

This tiny, humming gemstone breaks light around it and floats around, defying gravity. If untouched, it hangs suspended in the air. The gem was recovered by the Renegades in the Vault of Stars, a band of rogue pirates that did not understand its function. Regardless of their ignorance, the gem would have saved their life.
