Planar Mark
The multitude of energy descending from the layers between the world as we know it and the great beyond are as harmful as they can be creative. You know this as no other, for you have been hurled through different planes of existence, a multiverse of ideas. Perhaps your journey was an accidental one or maybe you sought to harness the cosmic forces of worlds beyond your own. Nevertheless, realities collide within your body, shaping an entity with the power to bring forth change and transmutation.
Planar Transformations
At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Planar Transformations table to help create your character based on the way your Planar Mark changes your appearance.
Planar Transformations Table
d6 | Transformation |
---|---|
1 | Your eyes seem to resemble the light of a thousand stars. |
2 | You suffer from (partial) amnesia. |
3 | Your skin is luminescent and glows faintly. |
4 | You occasionally receive terrible headaches and nosebleeds. |
5 | Your vocabulary is sprinkled with seemingly non-existent words and proverbs. |
6 | Your body is altered and portrays mysterious features. |
Phase
1st-level Planar Mark Feature
At 1st level, your body has been altered by the flow of cosmic energy throughout the planes, causing you to occasionally phase in and out of place. Whenever you spend a sorcery point, you can use your bonus action to phase you and everything you are carrying to a space within 10 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity.
Additionally, all enemies within 5 feet take force damage equal to your charisma modifier before phasing away.
Multiversal Memories
1st-level Planar Mark Feature
Also starting at 1st level, your interaction with the planes beyond gives you added knowledge of the many things you have seen. Rather haphazardly when encountering familiar sights, you remember the odd detail. To gain information about any concept, object, place or creature type, you can roll on the Multiversal Memories table, gaining the information from your memories at the DM’s discretion. The information gained this way grants you certain details that would otherwise remain unknown to others.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus before needing to finish a long rest.
Multiversal Memories Table
d4 | Memory |
---|---|
1 | You do not remember anything. |
2 | You remember a little. Details might be vague and few. |
3 | You are fairly familiar. Some details are specific, some are vague. |
4 | You remember a lot. Details are specific. |
Cosmic Break
6th-level Planar Mark Feature
From 6th level onwards, your very presence as a conduit allows cosmic energy to seep into the fabric of reality. Whenever you dash, you temporarily disrupt your surroundings and may choose one of the following effects:
Devoid of Color. Your stride momentarily sucks up the colors in your way. When you move within 5 feet of a creature, the creature has to succeed on a DC Willpower saving throw equal to your spell save DC or have disadvantage on their next attack roll.
Devoid of Darkness. You rush by and illuminate yourself with the light of the stars. When you move within 5 feet of a creature, the creature has to succeed on a DC Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the start of their next turn. Additionally, you emit a bright light in a 10 foot radius.
Devoid of Sound. Dashing seemingly drags sound itself behind you. Until the start of your next turn, all spaces your move through turn into vacuums of sound as if affected by the Silence spell.
After using this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short rest.
Prismatic Protection
14th-level Planar Mark Feature
Starting from 14th level, you harness the ever-changing energies from mesmerizing cosmos and the worlds beyond. As such, as a reaction upon getting hit by a weapon or spell attack, you can expend any number of sorcery points to reduce incoming damage by 5 for every sorcery point spent.
Additionally, after using this feature, you deal damage equal to twice your charisma modifier the next time you phase away.
Meta Perspective
18th-level Planar Mark Feature
Understanding your own body and your place in the universe made you realize its glorious potential. Whenever you use the Metamagic Feature, you can choose two metamagic options instead of one to modify a spell when you cast it. Doing so doubles the sorcery points needed for both options. You cannot use the same option more than once when casting a spell.
Lore
The Planedial consists of all probable planes, each a unique font of creation. To maintain the balance, the dial readjusts itself by scrapping surplus creative energy. Residual energies, magics and scraps are sent to the junkyeard realm of Dyscaert, where everything merges into single existence. When a conscious creature is 'scrapped' and sent to Dyscaert, one could receive the Planar Mark, as their substance becomes charged with arcane power.
