If studied for 6 hours, or as part of a long rest, the reflective Compendium offers you the opportunity to... reflect. Share an insecurity with the book, by speaking it out loud. If you succeed on a DC 16 persuasion check, the book believes the authenticity of your offering. If the book is lied to, the check's DC increases by 5.

On a succes, the Compendium grants you the ability to reshape your appearance permanently, similar to the effects of Alter Self. On a fail, you are punished and forced to evaluate yourself as the book permanently alters your appearance to mirror your insecurities.
