Overview

The primary ADC chip of the CMS HCAL detector.

Data

The QIE outputs the following 2 bytes of data every time slice (BX):

• CID - 2 bits, identifies the capacitor that integrated the input current
• ADC - 8 bits (6 bits for mantissa, 2 bits for range), identifies the charge value of the integrated input current
• TDC - 6 bits, identifies the leading edge of the input current
