Tips for Push Notifications
When you use push notifications you will notice they follow a simple pattern that looks like:
Johns Alarm - Disarming
Studio
By: Peter
Time: 10 May 2017 08:15
In this case the alarm is called "Johns Alarm". You can change this through you IP module. Simply log into the IP module, go to "Account Configuration" and edit the "Site Name". Its very important to remember that the sitename might be linked to your ParadoxMyHome service, so in some cases it is advisable to NOT change the sitename!
The partition (or area) that was controlled in this case is called "Studio". Depending on your alarm model you might have several partitions configured. To change the names of partitions you need a software package called Winload. This is what some alarm installers use to configure alarms and can be very dangerous if used by a novice user. It controls all aspects of your alarm! Once installed and connected to your alarm you can change the partition names by going into the "Programming Sheets", then "System Options", and finally "Daylight / Partition". First read back the current settings, the change and send the new setting for only the sheet you have edited to the alarm.
The name of the user, Peter in this case, was linked to the particular remote that Peter used. Also within Winload, this can be changed under the "User Codes" menu item and made unique for each remote control.
Your push notifications look weird?
You are likely using an SMTP server (configured in your IP module) that Alarmin does not understand very well. Gmail's SMTP server works very well with Alarmin. Alternatively you can use Alarmin's own SMTP server - however this will only work if you do not also use the IP module to send emails to your own personal email accounts. A benefit of using Alarmin's SMTP server is that push notification should be received much quicker than using any other SMTP server.
