Summary
jgfs_marine_prepoceanobs.ecf is the NCO production ecFlow task that performs ocean observation preparation — converting raw ocean observations (T/S profiles, altimetry, SST, sea ice) into IODA format for the marine SOCA analysis. It calls JGLOBAL_PREP_OCEAN_OBS.
1. Resources & Configuration
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| PBS resources | 1 node, 128 cpus, 48 GB, 10-min wall, shared |
| Modules | load_modules.sh ufsda (JEDI/IODA) |
| J-Job | JGLOBAL_PREP_OCEAN_OBS |
| Rocoto | prepoceanobs.sh |
2. v17-specific notes
- IODA-based: uses
ufsdamodules for IODA observation converters. - 128 cpus for parallel conversion of multiple observation types.
- 10-min walltime — fast conversion/QC step.
- Pre-marine-analysis: must complete before marine DA init can stage observations.
- Python/IODA converters transform raw obs to IODA format for SOCA assimilation.
