This page describes how you might make the parts for the Primary Diameter Sensor. Keep in mind that there are probably many other methods that will work. Choose a method that works for you. If a particular part requires an expensive tool you don't have, consider having a friend or local machine shop do it for you. Step 1: Layout and cut 1 in square tubing to the lengths shown in the drawing. Clean up the ends and remove any burrs with a flat file.
Step 2: Weld the two pieces of square tubing together as shown.

The Non-contact Diameter Sensor is designed so that it might be used in a variety of projects. As such, it is kept in its own repository. Go HERE to for instructions on how to build it.
