How Do VPNs Work and Are They Worth It? - Tech-inmotion/VPNTechguy GitHub Wiki
It is always handy to have a VPN subscription, but you may not know it until you actually have VPN software installed on your devices. It is one of those pieces of software that you never knew you need until you eventually bite the bullet and install it only to discover that VPNs open doors to new ways to work and new forms of entertainment.
VPNs create virtual encrypted tunnels through the internet. These tunnels are effectively a private connection between your device and the VPN server. No other device can access this tunnel and anyone on the outside, for example a hacker’ will not be able to see the data being transmitted inside the tunnel.
This makes VPNs perfect for privacy because any information sent is not recorded on your access point and if you use it in conjunction with ‘InPrivate Browsing’ or ‘Incognito Mode’ on Chrome, then the websites you visit will not be recorded on your device either. In effect, your entire browsing session will not be recorded anywhere. If you do not use ‘InPrivate Browsing’ or ‘Incognito Mode’, then the website you visit will be recorded on your device and as such you will need to delete your history manually.
With the ultimate privacy in place, you can access torrents, movies streams, and websites that you may not necessarily want your internet browser to know about. You can also access sites overseas, for example, if you have a PayPal account opened in Greece and try to access it while in Italy, PayPal will probably block you from doing so. With your VPN, you will be able to log on to a VPN server in Greece and access your PayPal account while outside the country.
