How to Defeat The Sculk Horde - TeamPeril/Sculk-Horde GitHub Wiki
What is this and how do I get rid of it???
Whether or not the Sculk Horde has only just started to consume your world, or it already has assimilated it, you can take back the overworld and defeat the Sculk Horde. All Sculk Infestation can be purified and returned back to normal.
Version 0.9 and Onward
There is only one way to permanent defeat the Sculk Horde: killing the Ancient Node. It cannot be broken, exploded, or anything like that. Instead, you must use a Heart of Purity on it. Obtaining this item requires you to do the following:
- Kill 8 Nodes and obtain 8 Chunks' O Brain. Note that this may take a while as there is a cooldown for Nodes to spawn.
- Craft a Dormant Heart of the Horde and a Soul Harvester.
- Kill non-sculk mobs near the Soul Harvester to absorb souls into it.
- Place the Dormant Heart of the Horde to breed life into it.
- Take your Active Heart of the Horde, and craft a Heart of Purity.
- Right Click the Ancient Node in the Sculk Tomb with the Heart of Purity to permanently defeat the Horde.
- The Sculk Node serves as a tool for the Gravemind to organize and spread infestation in the local area. Destroying this Node, while difficult, will massively help stopping the spread.
- Sculk Bee Hives serve as a home for Sculk Bees to gather resources and spread infection. Destroying these will help reduce spread. However, these hives produce resources vital to reversing infestation.
- Sculk Mites burrow into mobs to turn their health into mass. Killing them is vital.
- Sculk Spore Spewers spread infection to mobs and spread infestation to blocks. Kill them.
- All forms of Sculk Infestation is completely reversible.
- The Infestation Purifier Item is the key to reversing the infestation.
- Making the Infestation Purifier requires materials that only be located in Sculk Infested Areas.
- Collecting these materials may not be possible in the earliest stages of Sculk Infestation and you may need to wait until.
Version 0.8 and Below
There are two ways to defeat the Sculk Horde and save the overworld from it's wrath:
- Defeating the Ancient Node.
- Starving it of resources.
- In order to permanently put a stop to the Horde, you need to defeat the Ancient Node.
- To do this, you have to destroy all Nodes first.
- Once you have done this, right-click the Ancient Sculk Node with a pure soul to defeat it.
- This will completely deactivate the horde and stop most spreading mechanics.
- The Sculk Horde feeds off life to survive, whether that be plants or living creatures and turns it into Sculk Mass.
- Things such as villages, flowers, and wild animals allow the Sculk Horde to continuously feed by turning them into Mass.
- Removing these things from the grasp of the Sculk Horde prevent it from turning life into mass.
- Killing Sculk creatures, permanently removes resources from the Horde. This is because these creatures require resources to produce.
