Raspberry Pi Displays - Team254/cheesy-arena GitHub Wiki
The Cheesy Arena hardware includes a number of Raspberry Pis that are intended to be used as remote displays (rankings, queueing, field monitor, etc.).
The Pis are running the configurations and startup software contained at https://github.com/Team254/cheesy-arena-rpi.
Usage instructions
- Connect the Raspberry Pi to the field Ethernet network, and to a monitor/TV via the HDMI port.
- Connect the USB power.
- Wait for the Pi to power up and display a yellow number (the display ID) on a black background. If the background stays blank forever, the Pi is probably not properly connected to the network or Cheesy Arena is not running.
- Use the
Setup -> Display Configuration
page in Cheesy Arena to find the display by its ID and assign it a function.
Wireless networking
The Raspberry Pis also can connect to a WiFi network; however, they must be manually and individually configured to do so. By default they will connect to a network with the SSID "Cheesy Arena" and WPA key "12Three45". They can be configured differently via the graphical interface using a USB keyboard and mouse, or via SSH by editing /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
.
