Definition:

Tenancy is your dedicated and secure space in Oracle Cloud where all your cloud resources are stored and managed.

“An OCI tenancy is the top-level, secure cloud account created for an organization. It contains all compartments, IAM identities, policies, resources, region subscriptions, quotas and billing information. Compartments are created inside the tenancy to organize and control resources.”

Think of OCI like an apartment building:

Building = Oracle Cloud

Your flat (apartment) = Tenancy

Rooms inside your flat = Compartments (where you organize resources)

Only you and your people can access your “flat” (tenancy).
