Lab :37 N W troubleshooting ‐ No network issue still unable to ping or telnet(Hint ‐ netstat) - TanveeKhanDB/OCI GitHub Wiki
What is netstat command:
It is a command-line tool that generates displays showing network status and protocol statistics. You can display the status of TCP, SCTP, and UDP endpoints in table format, routing table information, and interface information. The name stands for Network Statistics.
It reads data directly from the operating system's kernel — so it shows you exactly what's happening inside your machine's network layer in real time.
Imp points: httpd =>apache webserver
Scenario
There are two server Source_Server and Destination_server where we are trying to send packed from sourec to destination and everytying is fine in terms of netwrok and source level firewall still unbale to send packet:
Resolution: Will check the source side firewall will troubleshoot and do as per the ask.
Steps to implement in OCI
1.Login into both the server via putty form my laptop:
- Checking all the port which is active and listening (allowing for upcoming traffic)
3.Check httpd and its not there so will download n will check the status for port 80 n its active and listenting:
- Try to telnet Destination_Server however its not working:
- Will check the port status form Soure_Server
Checking active port form source.
firewall-cmd --list-ports
As no port is showing hence added port 80
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=80/tcp
systemctl reload firewalld
Now port 80 is showing
firewall-cmd --list-ports
- Finally will try to perform telent from Source_Server to Destination_Server
telnet 10.0.0.153 80
Finally Its working
