Iteration
With this iteration, I fixed a lot of issues that came up in the last playtest such as adding more props to provide cover, adding a statue to help players learn their position on the map, tweaking the lava pit platforms, and giving each room a function (such as the storage/box room, the bedroom, the library, etc.) so that the textures and props make sense in the appropriate rooms.
Playtest III
I conducted one final playtest with the map, textures and all. I fixed some issues concerning ammo, cover, and structures to give a sense of position on the map. With this in mind (and fixing the texturing issue), the map received much more favorable results than the week before. Players were pleased with the textures, the sculpture in the main room, and the appropriate amount of cover in several of the rooms. There are still some issues to fix to make the map more enjoyable such as easier parkour to not hinder the player's main goal: getting frags, easing up on the lava pit so players aren't frustrated passing by the first floor, and making the second floor of the lava pit a viable means to get across, not just a place to get a rocket launcher. I then compared this data with that of the previous playtests.
Playtest Comparison
All of these comparisons took a drop in the second playtest, but for the most part, opinions improved with the most recent playtest. Even though opinions are improving, I want to add a bit more features to the map to add more dynamics to the game. In addition, I want to fix some features that get in the way of the players from running smoothly and quickly through the map.
