This document aims to provide a clear and comprehensive guide for the initial setup and management of a wearable device. It outlines the process of first-time configuration, which is essential to ensure the device operates correctly from the start. It also explains how to perform a firmware update, a necessary step to keep the device up to date with the latest features and security improvements. Additionally, the document describes how to carry out a reboot, useful in cases of malfunction or when a restart is required, and provides instructions on how to identify the device’s MAC address, a technical detail required for network identification and potential support activities.
In this section, you will go through every step to connect your Tactigon Skin wearable device for the first time.
- Ensure your PC’s Bluetooth is turned on (you can enable Bluetooth by going to the settings).
- Connect the Tactigon Docking Station to one of your PC’s USB ports.
- Place the Tactigon Skin inside the Tactigon Docking Station.
- Download the application from GitHub by following the link:
- Launch Tactigon App. The software will show message about the status of battery and will make you wait until 75% is reached
N.B: Only on MacOS: Grant Bluetooth permission to Tactigon app
- Click “Let’s go!”
- Wait for the system to detect your Tactigon Skin.
- Select the hand on which you will wear your Tactigon Skin.
- The application will prompt you to wait until the device has reached 75% charge.
- When the device is charged, you can either Take a look at the tutorial or proceed to the application.

Download with your android smartphone the latest version of wearable device firmware

To ensure your device functions properly and stays up to date with the latest features and security patches, it is important to download the official application provided by the manufacturer. For Android devices, the app can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store. Make sure to verify that the app is published by the original manufacturer to avoid counterfeit or potentially unsafe software.

Installation

Download and install XAPK Installer from Play Store on your device

Download and copy on your android smartphone the file ST_BLE_Sensor_5.2.0.xapk

Run XAPK app on you device click on “try limited version” and give the required permissions

Select "Install .XAPK files"

Wait for the application to find the XAPK file

Install "ST_BLE_Sensor_5.2.0.xapk" by clicking the green button

Firmware Update
Updating the firmware of your device ensures optimal performance, improved features, and enhanced stability. With the ST BLE Sensor app, you can easily perform firmware updates directly from your Android smartphone.
To ensure a successful update process, the device must be placed in the docking station and connected to a power source throughout the entire update. Do not remove the device or interrupt the connection until the update is fully completed. Once the process is finished, the device will automatically restart with the latest firmware version installed.
To perform the firmware update, open the ST BLE Sensor app and follow these simple steps:
- Choose profile “I’m an expert” and “Firmware Developer”
- Choose your device from available device list
- Click on settings icon
- Click on the 'Firmware Update' menu item.
- Tap on the 'Selected File' field in this page
and locate the firmware file previously saved on your smartphone. Then, tap the 'UPGRADE' button.
Wait without moving or touching the device until the update is complete and the confirmation message appears.
To reboot the device, insert a pin or paperclip into the reboot button hole. The device will shut down and restart automatically without losing any settings or data.
To know the MAC address of your device, you can scan the QR code located on the red label attached to the device. This code contains information such as the MAC address and serial number. There are many free apps available to scan QR codes. One of the easiest to use is QR Scanner,
available for both Android and iOS devices.
