The board supports an external DS18B20 temperature sensor. The sensor could be glued with silicone and or a couple of cable ties to the motor.
You should solder the three JST cable wires to the three sensor pins. Check on the back of the board connector the see the pin signals. I suggest also to isolate the three terminals and the cable close to the motor with shrink tubes like in the image above.
If the sensor is installed, select the relative option in the Android application and enter the values for the two temperature thresholds.
The ESP32 starts updating the controller Max Current and Max Power when the warning threshold is crossed, down to 0 when the temperature reaches the shutoff threshold (linear scale).
