Plant Diversity NEON Sampling of Miami Dade Pine Rocklands

Sampling Dates

  • June 19th – August 2nd, 2021

NEON Sampling Design

  • Three (3) replicates at each site when possible.

  • Three (3) 20m2 plot at plot.

    • Center, Edge, Lawn.

  • One (1) time per year, a goal for completion in the rainy season.

  • Eleven (11) Pine Rocklands around the Homestead/ Redland area.

  • Nine (9) were true Pine Rockland.

  • One (1) was rocky glade mixed marl soil prairie/ hammock.

  • One (1) was mostly hammock.

  • 20m2 plot has 20 subplots at subplot.

  • Four (4) 100m2 subplots:

    • South: 31, 32
    • North: 40, 41
    • 100m2 subplot has four (4) nested subplots:
      • Two (2) 10m2 corner subplots
      • 31: 31.1.10, 31.4.10
      • 32: 32.2.10, 32.4.10
      • 40: 40.1.10, 40.3.10
      • 41: 41.1.10, 41.4.10
    • Two (2) nested 1m2 corner subplots
      • 31: 31.1.1, 31.4.1
      • 32: 32.2.1, 32.4.1
      • 40: 40.1.1, 40.3.1
      • 41: 41.1.1, 41.4.1

  • Status: Native, Nonnative established, Nonnative not established, Threatened, Endangered, Common, Invasive, Uncertain.
  • Family: family name of a species
