The Lab Operations SOP describes the best practices for managing data.

Experiments and Activities

• Complete the preparation questionaire as a new wiki page or repo.
• Keep a field, greenhouse, or lab notebook to document daily activities. Include dated notes on regular activities, disruptions, and surprises.
• Review your procedures, roughly quarterly.
• Drafting a wiki page, methods section, or activity report for the project.

Virtual Documentation

The follow items are the recommended way to keep a well structured documentation of your project so that it can be included in activity reports, presentations or virtual Extension events. We have at least two cameras and a tripod in the lab to help.

• full frame image of each treatment
• overhead or aerial image of the entire experiment
• best example or most interesting observation
• action shot or "best team"
• 30-90 second video that shows each treatment and the experimental layout. Pause on or zoom into interesting observations.
