Discovery Park has a machine shop for mechanical engineering and stuff. They can do a lot, but they are often already booked well in advance with various stuff including senior deisgn projects, research lab requests, and more.

There are two ways to get things done through DPark. First, you can get trained to use their non-computerized tools once you turn 18. These include the manual machines like lathes, saws, and drills. Second, you can ask for them to make something for you using their CNC mills (unlikely), Lasercutter (haven't done before), or water jet (have done before).

In the fall, they have a bit more time, so they may be willing to cut small stuff for free, but in the Spring, they will be loaded with stuff and will ask for an IDT (Inter-departmental Transfer) from TAMS to pay for the machine time.
