Rewaita includes a matching GNOME Shell theme. Follow these steps to enable it.
-
Install the User Themes extension. GNOME Shell requires the User Themes extension to load custom shell themes.
-
Set any theme. Rewaita will generate the shell theme automatically and place it in
~/.local/share/themes. This can be disabled in preferences. -
Select it in GNOME Tweaks. Open GNOME Tweaks → Appearance → Shell and choose Rewaita from the dropdown.
While Rewaita's theme is compatible with GDM, this process must be done manually. Step 3 needs to be repeated any time you change themes.
-
Install GDM Settings. This is required to activate the theme safely.
-
Run the overrides. After setting any theme, run these commands to give GDM Settings access to it:
sudo flatpak override io.github.realmazharhussain.GdmSettings --filesystem=~/.local/share/themes/rewaita:rosudo ln -sf ~/.local/share/themes/rewaita /usr/share/themes -
Choose the theme in GDM Settings. Open GDM Settings → Appearance → Shell and choose Rewaita from the dropdown.
These extensions pair well with Rewaita.
