What are Runic Weapons?

Runic Weapons are created by etching runes onto netherite weapons, and possess runic powers that enhance their combat abilities.

How do I create a Runic Weapon?

Simply combine a Runic Tablet, a Netherite Weapon, and a Diamond in a smithing table. Once created, left click the item in your inventory to identify the runic power.

How do I repair a Runic Weapon?

Runic weapons can be repaired with Netherite Ingots.

How do I obtain a Runic Tablet?

Runic Tablets have a low chance to be found in any chest, including chests found in modded structures.

How do I re-roll a runic power?

Runic weapons can have their ability re-rolled by combining a Runic Tablet, the Runic Weapon, and a diamond in a smithing table. (Do not shift-click the item from the smithing table, or it will not re-roll the ability).

What is the 'Greater' prefix on my runic power?

Some (not all) runic powers can occasionally roll with the 'Greater' prefix in the item tooltip. Greater runic powers are enchanced versions of their ordinary counterparts.


Runic Powers

Active Defence

Active Defence is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of protection. It grants the wielder a chance to periodically fire arrows at nearby enemies, as long as the wielder has arrows in their inventory.

Float

Float is a runic power that harnesses the power of levitation, allowing the wielder to manipulate gravity and reverse its effects on their targets. It grants the wielder a chance to lift their enemies off the ground, making them temporarily unable to move or act.

Freeze

Freeze is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of cold and ice. It grants the wielder a chance to chill or freeze their targets with each successful hit.

Frost Ward

Frost Ward is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of cold and frost. It creates a ward that periodically fires movement impairing snowballs at nearby enemies.

Imbued

Imbued is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of magic. It provides a weapon with the ability to lash out with a potent magical energy when hitting enemies.

Immolation

Immolation provides a powerful aura of holy fire. While active, this aura periodically damages nearby enemies, incinerating them with righteous flames. This damage scales based on the wielder's current health.

Momentum

Momentum is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of mass and velocity. It generates forward momentum, swiftly propelling the wielder forward.

Pincushion

Pincushion is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of retaliation. It provides a weapon with the ability to deal additional damage to enemies based on the number of arrows stuck in the wielder's body.

Shielding

Shielding is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of protection. It grants the wielder a chance to grant absorption on hit with each successful strike.

Slow

Slow is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of sloth and torpor. It grants the wielder a chance to slow down the movement speed of their targets with each successful hit.

Stoneskin

Stoneskin is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of earth and stone. It grants the wielder a chance to increase their resistance to damage at the cost of speed with each successful strike.

Swiftness

Swiftness is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of speed and agility. It grants the wielder a chance to increase their movement speed with each successful hit.

Trailblaze

Trailblaze is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of fire. It grants the wielder a chance to ignite themselves while also increasing their speed with each successful strike.

Unstable

Unstable is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of chaos. It grants the wielder a chance to periodically apply random effects to themselves.

Ward

Ward is a powerful but risky ability that provides the wielder with a temporary shield to protect against incoming attacks. When activated, the wielder sacrifices half of their current health to create a pulsing barrier of energy around them that absorbs incoming damage.

Weaken

Weaken is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of decay. It grants the wielder a chance to slow and weaken their target with each successful strike.

Wildfire

Wildfire is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of fire and combustion. It grants the wielder a chance to combust all nearby enemies of the same type into flames with each successful hit.

Zephyr

Zephyr is a runic power that imbues the wielder's weapon with the essence of the wind element. It grants the wielder a chance to gain increased attack speed and movement speed with each successful hit.
