Gem Socketing - Sweenus/SimplySwords GitHub Wiki

Unique weapons in Simply Swords have a chance to contain Netherfused & Runefused gem sockets that can be socketed with a matching gem to add additional abilities to the weapon.

How do I know if my weapon has gem sockets?

While viewing the weapon tooltip, hold ALT. If any sockets are present on the weapon they will appear in the tooltip.

Why doesn't my weapon have gem sockets?

Not all unique weapons will have gem sockets. When a unique weapon is generated in the world, it has a 50% chance to recieve a Runefused and/or Netherfused gem socket. See Unique Weapons for a list of compatible weapons.

How do I obtain/craft a gem?

Gems can be crafted by combinging a few expensive ingredients in a smithing table:

  • Netherfused gem: Runic Tablet + Empowered Remnant + Netherite Ingot.
  • Runefused gem: Runic Tablet + Empowered Remnant + Crying Obsidian.

An Empowered Remnant can be obtained by smelting down any unique weapon.

How do I socket a Runefused/Netherfused gem?

To socket a gem, you just need to anchor the gem to the mouse by clicking on it in your inventory, then click on a unique weapon with a matching gem socket. If the gem isn't socketing, you might not have a matching socket available on the weapon.

Can I remove/replace a socketed gem?

Once socketed, gems cannot be removed. Be sure to choose carefully.
