The Ascendancy Skill tree can be unlocked by spending a total of 42 skill points in the base skill tree. It provides end-game character progression and access to a second acitve ability, called an Ascendancy Ability.

What is an Ascendancy Ability

Ascendancy abilities are active abilities that can be used alongside your chosen Signature ability and can be activated with the default keybind of 'R'. Ascendancy abilities increase in power relative to the amount of points you have invested into the ascendancy skill tree.

Only one ascendancy ability can be unlocked at a time.

Is There a Level Cap

The Ascendancy skill tree has no level cap. Instead, it has an exponential exp requirement, resulting in very slow level gain at higher levels.
