scatmod - Open Source Acoustic Scattering models aims at providing standardised and tested code to model the target strength or backscatter of underwater targets.

Effort is undertaken to make all models available in the most commonly used scientific languages, including R, Python and Matlab (Octave compatibility should be evaluated in the future). Benchmark tests are presented to provide the user with some sort of quality assessment, both in speed performance as well as in terms of accuracy and / or precision.

The model description page should contain a description of the model, links to the most relevant literature and a description of model boundary conditions and limitations.
