The Things Network Challenge: Soooo.... Out of my own general fog of ideas is a challenge / interest / offer here to generate student built, programmed, designed devices that can poke data into the system...
Scenario: I would be interested if the Pi in the corner of Room six etc can post an Appropriately packaged trip or alert to an Appropriate place at an Appropriate level ? Previous Cayenne very good LoRA documentation shows how to work into their system using Standard Tech https://developers.mydevices.com/cayenne/docs/lora/. Can we hack this into TTN ?
Idea is to learn about tech at a very low level: Make useful stuff while learning about electrickery / bread boards, Positive and Negative. By adding some LoRA LAN / WAN / TTN glue in a Pi. Feed it to TTN. Learn about and evangelise TTN, Extend, TTN nodes, network and understanding Play with, have FUN with TTN Build up the TTN web for anyone / everyone Use TTN
Middle Data: Novel Data Streams and devices. We have a host of R&d and devices being developed by teacher / student / Open Community / Artists and creative CitZenSci types on breadboards and solder that can track and monitor activity. This / these can monitor and model various behavior and lure and also work to track clean zones. Input / Output here will be standard trap message data but new uses / ideas and problem solving will uncover more than a bit beneficial ideas and learnings all round.
This video shows the kind of tree I am barking up.... Learning with the Internet of Things - years 5-6 Student devices are not necessarily traps (which have become trendy, and profitable for some, with Predator Free NZ) but potential new lure and trap ideas... Classic design a mouse trap 101 (physically and metaphorically). The teacher in the video above was only part time employed and is now Head of Department. Shows the potential for engaging learners of All ages at the deepest level in tech through creative learning. Play.
This stuff is what makes me tick...
