Battery Charging Notes - SteveCossy/IOT GitHub Wiki
The 'charging system' is set up at present to maintain a modest 3500mV at present as I was anxious about protecting the LiPO esp in the heat when in FULL sunshine. Place it in partial shade and see how we go. If it can generally see the sky then it will typically recharge in a day even if overcast. I have just done an autopsy on a dead, swollen (drowned) sound klure project and it is quite fascinating to see the internal parts and watch the water froth and foam up when you unwrap the nano thin copper and graphine and LiPO toilet tissue in a bucket ! I read the MSD ( safety data sheet first )
However....
I set the LiPO protection circuit from the end of the battery to work and did all sorts of super weird things to it using super capacitors as the 'virtual battery'
- It will not let ANY current into the battery above about 4.22 volts anyway (so we can not over charge them !
- At 2.5 Volts the battery disconnects
- A short circuit happily delivers current limiting 2.2 Amps time and time againwithout anything getting hot ie - NICE and SAFE
