FAQ - Steemhunt/nomadtask-tutorial GitHub Wiki
This article addresses frequently-asked questions for using Nomadtask. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you can ask directly in our communities via Discord or Telegram. You can also send us an email via [email protected].
1. Workers
How to work as a Worker
In Nomadtask, you can earn rewards by completing marketing tasks. The users who join the task are called Workers. The basic flow to complete the task is as below:
- Explore ongoing tasks on the main page
- Read the task instruction carefully and click the join button
- Submit your task proof before the deadline noted on the submission panel
- Once your submission is approved by the maker, you will earn the USD Point rewards that you can find on your “My Credit” page.
When will my submission get approved?
Your submission will be moderated by the maker who created the task. The time taken for moderation will depend on each maker. If the maker doesn’t moderate your submission within 72 hours (meaning that the maker hasn’t decided to approve/reject your submission within 72 hours), it will be approved automatically.
My submission got approved. When will I get the rewards and where can I find them?
Once your submission is approved by the maker, you will earn the task reward 4 hours after the approval. You can find your reward on the My Credit tab on your profile page. Please note that your moderation result could change during the 4 hours before your reward is paid. In other words, the maker can change the moderation result until the task reward arrives on your My Credit page.
What is USD Point and how can I withdraw my rewards?
All task reward units are based on the USD (United State Dollar) Point system. 1 USD Point represents 1 USD of something. You can withdraw your rewards via cryptocurrency (HUNT or ETH). You will receive the same USD worth of cryptocurrencies (after deducting conversion fees) into the crypto wallet that you input when you transfer. For more details about each withdrawal option, please check the following questions.
Steps to transfer your rewards:
- Put in the recipient wallet address.
- Put in the amount of the USD Point that you’re withdrawing.
- You will see the crypto amount that you will receive (calculated at the market price after deducting fees).
- Click the agreement and request transfer.
Please check the address carefully before requesting a transfer and make sure that you're sending your tokens to the HUNT wallet on exchanges or ERC-20 supported wallet (HUNT Token Contract Address: 0x9aab071b4129b083b01cb5a0cb513ce7eca26fa5). Nomadtask is NOT responsible for any losses or damages, including, but not limited to those incurred from providing the wrong information.
What is HUNT token?
HUNT token is an Ethereum based cryptocurrency that works as the key currency for HUNT Network. As of March 26, 2020, it is listed on GOPAX, Probit Global, and Daybit. When you choose the HUNT withdrawal option, you can transfer your rewards via the HUNT wallet on the exchanges mentioned above, or a personal Ethereum wallet that supports ERC20 tokens (e.g. Metamask, Trust Wallet, MyEtherWallet, etc). Currently, there is no conversion and operation fee and $1.0 blockchain transaction fee when you withdraw your USD Point rewards.
What is ETH (Ethereum) token?
Ether is the cryptocurrency generated by the Ethereum platform. Most crypto exchanges and wallet providers support Ethereum. Currently, there is a 10% conversion and operation fee and $1.0 blockchain transaction fee when you withdraw your USD Point rewards.
What is XRP (Ripple) token?
XRP is the currency that runs on a digital payment platform called RippleNet. Currently, there is a 10% conversion and operation fee and $0.2 blockchain transaction fee when you withdraw your USD Point rewards.
What is Blockchain Network fee?
Each Blockchain network requires a network usage fee. For example, Ethereum Blockchain requires a transaction fee called GAS fee. The fee amount varies on each Blockchain network and it keeps changing based on the demands on the network. Nomadtask uses the lowest network fees possible by covering a percentage of the fees to reduce the amount of total fees taken from users.
I can’t find the tokens that I withdrew. Why?
This may be related to the following issues:
1. You didn’t click the confirmation button in your email
Due to security protection, we send you an email that has a confirmation button that you need to click after you request to transfer. If you don’t complete the confirmation within 30 minutes, the link will expire. If so, you can resend the confirmation email on the withdrawals tab.
2. You put the wrong wallet address
If you put someone else’s wallet address and the transaction status is running or sent, unfortunately, it is not possible for us to reverse because your transaction is already broadcasted to the blockchain network.
If the transaction status is email confirmation required
and you put in the wrong address, please email us immediately via [email protected] so that we can cancel the request.
3. Blockchain network is busy
Your transfer request can fail to broadcast if the blockchain network traffic is overloaded. In this case, your transaction status will say in progress (takes longer than usual)
and you may also see a Dropped & Replaced
message on the Etherscan page.
In this case, the team will regularly check the status and broadcast your transaction again later on, so you don’t need to keep checking (it may take 1 - 3 days to resend). When there is a unique network situation, the team will make an announcement via Discord and Telegram.
I didn’t click the confirmation button on the email for my withdrawal. Can I cancel the transfer request?
Yes. In that case, please send an email via [email protected] by including your Nomadtask email ID in order to request the cancellation of your withdrawal transaction. Once you click the confirmation and it’s already broadcasted to the blockchain network, we’re not able to cancel your transaction.
Is there any minimum amount to withdraw my rewards?
The minimum withdrawal amount is $5. Also, an exchange deposit wallet that you’re using may require a minimum deposit amount. So, it’s less risky to withdraw a larger amount.
What is Trust Score?
Trust score is a measurable index that demonstrates how trustworthy a worker is in relation to Nomadtask activities. It is calculated based on many different criteria, but the number of possible alt accounts and the approval rate of submissions affect your Trust Score the most. Nomadtask runs a systematic algorithm to detect the alt operation from one single user. It’s not just based on the IP address so sharing an Internet connection with just a few family members won’t affect your score. This score updates on a daily basis.
I share the same IP address with other family members. Will my trust score be decreased?
We don’t detect the possibility of alt operation simply based on the same IP addresses. We know that some accounts may share the same IP addresses with other people, and our Trust Scoring system understands this circumstance.
What aspects can lower my Trust Score?
Trust Score is calculated mostly based on the number of possible alt accounts and the approval rate of submissions. If you keep creating multiple Nomadtask accounts (even by using VPN), our detection system will catch the pattern and your Trust Score will significantly drop. Your Trust Score will also decrease If you get many rejections or are banned by a maker.
What benefits exist in relation to my Trust Score?
Your Trust Score decides how much you can earn from the maximum pay-out of each task. You can earn more rewards when your Trust Score is higher. Please see the reward ratio based on the Trust Score range below:
Trust Score | Reward Ratio |
---|---|
80% or more | 1.0 |
60% - 79% | 0.8 |
40% - 59% | 0.6 |
20% - 39% | 0.4 |
1% - 19% | 0.2 |
0% | 0.0 |
For example, if you have joined a task that has $1 maximum payout per submission and your Trust Score is 65%, you will earn $0.8 when your submission gets approved ($1.0 * 0.8).
My account got suspended/blacklisted. Why?
We run a blacklist to prevent the abuse of Rewards from Task activities and maintain a fair platform. If you commit any of the following actions, your account will be blacklisted.
- Operate multiple alt accounts to submit multiple submissions from the same person by pretending to be a different person.
- Submit non-relevant proofs to the Task instruction.
- Plagiarise the content submitted.
- Frequently appeal to the Maker without any valid appeal reasons.
- Frequently interrupt the Task operation by the Maker or the conduct of business.
- Get blocked by three different makers.
- Your Trust Score becomes 0%.
- Fake your country information or use a tool to fool the system.
- For any other reason(s) that may harm the overall Nomadtask website and business operation.
Can I still use Nomadtask even though my account has been suspended?
Even if you are blacklisted, you can still use our platform as a maker (creating tasks), however, you won't be able to receive Rewards from your Task approvals or withdraw the USD Point displaying in the My Credit section. We announce the blacklist via #blacklist channel in our Discord Group. Please ONLY appeal your blacklisted account if you have NOT violated ANY of the rules mentioned above. You can ONLY appeal via EMAIL - [email protected]. If you appeal through any other channel your email or chat account will be blocked in our community channels.
How can I delete my account?
You can find the Delete Account button at the bottom of the Settings menu. Please note that we won’t be able to recover your account once it is deleted.
I forgot my password.
You can reset your password via http://nomadtask.com/forgot_password. We will send you an email that tells you how you can reset the password of your account.
How can I change my email address?
Once your email has already been verified (meaning that your email address is identified as a genuine/unique address on Nomadtask), you’re not able to change your email address. It is only possible to change your email address if you have made a type error and as a result can’t verify your email address. If you have mistyped your address and want to update it, please send us the following information via [email protected].
- The old email address that you mistyped when you signed-up to Nomadtask
- The correct email address that you want to update.
I followed all the necessary requirements that are addressed in the task instruction, but my submission got rejected. What should I do?
You can appeal to the maker directly by sending an email. On the task page, there is a section where you can type the reasons for your appeal and send the email to the maker. You have to provide detailed reasons why your submission shouldn’t be rejected with 100 or more characters. If the maker doesn’t respond to your legit appeal request, please report the case via [email protected].
2. Makers
What is Nomadtask?
Nomadtask is an on-demand marketing task marketplace that enables individuals and businesses (called “Makers”) to utilise crowdsourced workers to achieve their marketing missions such as promoting content or social channels, increasing downloads or new users, raising review content about their products/services, running a survey, and performing a beta test.
How does this work?
Workers, also known as “Nomads,” can join the marketing tasks posted by makers and complete the missions in exchange for a rate set by the maker. Workers receive their rewards in the form of USD (United State Dollar) Point that can be transferred into cryptocurrencies (HUNT, ETH) or gift cards, or used to purchase some products merchandised on the Nomadtask site (Gift cards and shop features are in progress).
What is the necessary information to create a task?
When you click the Create Task button and choose your task type, you will see a simple form to set your task as below:
Task Title Make a task title that briefly shows what this task is about (e.g. Download X app and complete a sign up).
Product or Subject Link Add the target link that your task is related to. It can be your website, an app page, a social/blog channel, a survey form, a referral link etc.
Screenshots about your product (or the target subject) You can upload multiple screenshots that show your product or the target site.
Select your target language
- All: Workers from all countries will be able to join your task
- English only: Only workers who understand English will be able to join your task
- Korean only: Only workers who understand Korean will be able to join your task
Types of proof Workers will submit materials to show that he/she has successfully completed the task that you requested via your task instructions. You can choose what types of proofs workers should submit among a screenshot, video, link (URL), or text (words). You can select multiple proof types.
Task Instruction You should write simple and clear task instructions. Any information that requires workers to complete the task should be included. In general, you may need to add this information:
- Steps to complete the task mission
- Requirements for the proof submission (How to prepare the proof materials)
- Rules about rejection
Example of the screenshot proof You can provide a perfect example of the screenshot that includes all the criteria you’ve mentioned in your task instruction. Only one example can be shown in order to minimise confusions.
Minimum Task Reward You can set the minimum reward price per worker who successfully completes your task and gets approved by you. The range is $0.2 to $1,000. If your set reward is too low compared to the level of task mission difficulty, workers may not participate in your task. Occasionally, Nomadtask will increase the reward price (within your budget) in order to find more workers to join and complete your task as planned. When you decide on the minimum task reward and total task budget, you can see the range of estimation for your task and the total number of workers.
What is Moderation?
Moderation is a process that verifies each Proof submission in order to approve or reject the Proof submission based on the addressed requirements in your task instruction.
Is there any time limit to complete the moderation?
You must complete the moderation process (approve or reject) for each submission within 72 hours from the submitted date. If you fail to approve/reject within the period, the Proof submission will be automatically approved, and the result is irreversible.
What are the rules for rejecting submissions?
You can only reject a workers submission based on what you listed as a requirement in the task instruction. You must provide a valid reason to reject the submission. If we receive an appeal from a Worker whose rejection reason was not clearly described in your task instructions, we may change the moderation result forcibly.
I received an email saying “You have received an appeal to your recent moderation.” What should I do?
You may receive a request via your registered email from a worker whose submission got rejected in order to change your moderation result. You should respond to the appeal and reply with a fair reason for rejection. If your task instructions do not clearly address the reason for the rejection, you need to change the moderation result to approved.
Can I change some moderation results that I’ve previously made?
It’s case by case. First of all, you can approve some rejected submissions if you have enough money left in the remaining budget. If you don’t have enough budget left, you may not be able to reverse the rejection to the approval status. However, you can add more funds to your budget so that you can approve a submission.
On the other hand, you can also reject some approved submissions before the reward has been distributed to the worker. The task reward will be distributed to the worker 4 hours after you have approved the submission. Until that time, you’re able to change the moderation result. Once the reward is distributed, you are not able to reject the approved submission.
When will my task be finished?
Your task will expire when there is not sufficient budget to accept more workers to join. In this case, you can top up your budget to keep the task running. If not, your task will automatically finish.
I want to request a refund. How?
Please note that you can only request a refund after meeting the following conditions:
- You should pause the task.
- All pending workers who have joined the task but did not submit their proof yet must be moderated. It may take up to 24 hours after pausing your task for the pending workers to complete the task.
- You should finish all the moderation properly.
Once your task has met the criteria above, the "Request Refund" button will be active and you can claim your refundable amount. The refund will be processed via the same method of payment. The conversion rate is calculated based on the average market price in the previous 24 hours.
Is there any refund fee?
When you request a refund, there will be an applied daily deduction to your refundable amount to prevent a task running too long in a low quality way. For more details, please read this Refund Policy.
What do the terms “working” workers and “reserved rewards” mean?
When a worker joins your task, he/she has a time limit to submit the task proof. During that time, the task reward is reserved for the worker. The worker who joined but didn’t submit the proof yet is called a “working” worker. If the worker doesn’t submit the result within the time limit or gets rejected, the reserved reward goes back to your task reward pool.
Can I use my USD Point rewards on My Credit to pay the task creation?
You cannot pay the task creation from the rewards you earned from your worker activities due to legal issues. In order to use your rewards to pay the task, you should withdraw the rewards first, and then send the amount to the payment wallet. We may add a new feature that allows workers to withdraw the rewards as a Nomadtask coupon that can be directly used for the task creation.
Why does the maximum payout increase over time?
Nomadtask increases the maximum reward price within your budget in order to make your task more appealing for workers to join and complete your task. The increase rate varies on multiple factors, such as the level of completion, target duration of the task, performance data, etc. When you initially make your task, Nomadtask shows you the estimated price range and the range of total participants. The final result of your task is guaranteed to be in the range of the given estimation. The maximum reward price may increase faster when your task completion period is shorter and/or the participation rate is low.
