Welcome to the StateSmith-drawio-plugin wiki!

You can use the StateSmith plugin with the draw.io offline application or with a vscode extension.

Both are supported although a number of new users are reporting problems with the vscode extension (not made by us).

Pros:

• Supports multiple monitors. Diagram on one monitor, code on another (if you want).
• More stable than vscode draw.io extension. Receives bug fixes much faster.
• Double click a .drawio file to launch the draw.io offline app.

Cons:

• Takes 2 minutes to download and install our plugin. Only needs to be done once.
• Requires 3 clicks to run our plugin every time the draw.io offline app is launched.

Not recommended for beginners. Start with the stable official draw.io program.

Pros:

• Loads within vscode which can be really nice.
• Can be setup to automatically load our StateSmith plugin (if you want).

Cons:

• Rarely updated and has numerous bugs.
• Do NOT use .drawio.svg with this extension.
• More likely to run into issues.
