Pixelmon Ghosts

This is a Skyblock, quest-based modpack that makes use of Pixelmon Reforged. All credit to and responsibility for Pixelmon 9+ Goes to them. It was rewritten from the ground up for 1.16.5, and the 1.12 build has been discontinued.

Caveats

This pack is in BETA. There will be bugs. You were warned.

The pack is not tested in multiplayer, and definitely not tested with Teams. Proceed at your own peril. You're on your own if you want to try and make a server out of this- unless you want to help by dedicating the man-hours to testing and editing it!

Getting Started

You cannot get started without the quest book. You don't start with a sapling, a poke ball, or even a starter. There's no professor to give you these things! But a voice from beyond has heard your pitiful pleas, and some higher power has decided to help you. As you progress, you'll become something of a medium, with the helpful ghosts and insects bringing you presents from all over the place.

You can find the quest book on the ground, or access it from anywhere using a button in your inventory, up in the far upper left-hand corner. It is a wordy quest book. You can read it for valuable tips and tricks (ie what level is it safe to fight Geodude at? Which sapling should you plant first?) or skip over it and find everything out the hard way.

After the introduction questline, the game opens up. The most crucial page after this is 'Vertical Exploration,' which tells you where certain Pokemon spawn and under what conditions. This information cannot be obtained any other way. Pixelmon is JEI compatable, but because metal drops can be in nugget, ingot, plate, dust, rod, gear, or tool form, its advised to take a peak at 'Metals & Gems,' which gives you an easier summary of who to fight for what metals.

How are you going to get your first bucket of lava? Find villagers? Reach Ultra Space? Stop getting attacked by randomly spawning spiders? The Quest book knows, and the Quest book will get you through this.

Modpack Completion

This modpack is not complete, and is being made in the spare time of a working student who has a lot of other Real World (tm) responsibilities.

Currently the game is functionally complete with a beginning, middle and end. There is still plenty of room for end game content, after game content, tweaking, more mods, and clean-up.

You are welcome to create suggestions/comments, as long as you are emotionally prepared for the fact that they may not be implemented. These modpacks are tedious to put together and take a lot of time just to implement 'the little things.'

Roadmap

Things I intend to add in the future are...

  1. Select premade RFTools dimensions (to make it easier to ensure pokemon spawn in them and dens exist) to open up new biomes
  2. Thermal, but with everything heavily gated and tweaked to make it end-game content.
  3. Easier access to more legendaries (especially Cosmog)

Warnings!

Be careful not to do silly things like use /kill @e[type=!player]. You'll murder all the invisible armor stands this modpack relies on for placing its islands, and handicap yourself. 1.16.5 is a breeze to write commands in compared to 1.12, but we're still using placeholders and markers. Placing anything in the world is atrocious and done with weirdo scoreboard math.

Also don't do stupid things with villagers like make zillions of them. The damn things are almost impossible to kill without killing all the villagers on the server. You end up having to go one by one with the npc editor, or use chunk loading/unloading tricks.
