What's the difference between this fork and ______'s fork?

Why should I use this over the inline extension?

Because you like it better. Many of those who use the inline extension don't want a ton of extra features, so I'm not going to try to sell my fork to them. Sorry.

Why don't you just contribute with Mayhem or ihavenoface and make one great userscript?

Mayhem has both of us blocked because he thinks of us as "drama queens/attention whores/parasites." ihavenoface has me blocked over an argument on his fork. Either way, it's just not happening. Both of them use code from our fork anyway, and vice versa. Any other developers out there that want to contribute is 100% welcome to. Fork 4chan X, send some pull requests, and be active on our issue tracker, and you'll get full credit as a contributor to our fork.

How do I get always-on image prefetching?

Enable Replace GIF, Replace JPG, and Replace PNG. These are meant to replace the thumbnails with high quality versions, but they also serve as always-on image prefetching.

Does this work on Safari?

I have no idea. Buy me a Mac and I'll find out.

Why do you not have an official Opera Next extension like Mayhem does?

I did, and maintained it for about a month until the Opera devs decided to pull it after deciding embedding external javascript was not allowed (which would mean we'd have to pull our entire Embedding option). This plus the fact that the review process for every individual version took about 5 days, led me to the decision to drop both 4chan X and OneeChan's Opera extension and instead point Opera users to the Chrome extension which does not have these restrictions.

What does '4chan X encountered an error while posting. Please try again.' mean?

It means one of the following happened:

A connection error with sys.4chan.org happened: very likely, 4chan shits itself frequently so keep trying.
A connection error with your network happened: unlikely.
For technical reasons, 4chan X couldn't differentiate between a connection error and a ban: very unlikely.
The image you're trying to post has ceased to exist.

Why can't I move my updater and thread stats from the header?

Why can't I make the thread watcher stay at the top of the page?

You should update. As of v1.1.13, the watcher is now hidden until the [Watcher] shortcut is clicked. This means it won't be following you around the page, and you can bring it up only when you want. As of v1.1.16, you can also enable the Persistent Thread Watcher option if you want the old behavior.

Why doesn't my Check for Updates option work?

As of v1.1.16, it checks just once a day. Users of NoScript might not see the notification because it loads a latest.js script from our Github. Greasemonkey auto-updating didn't work until v1.1.15 because it didn't point to the right URL.

Are there any userstyles that support this fork?

Currently the only known one is Stilig.

When will 4chan Style Script support this fork?

That's not up to me. You should request this from Ahoka.
