#10.07.2017 - Destroyer of worlds and interdimensional traveling First of all: Do you know the feeling of hitting a button or doing something and the moment it's done you realize what a bad idea it was? Well I do. I just deleted my terrain. Unity came up with some pretty annoying warnings and errors so I decided to just remove that object. Click on the message, hit [del] and it's gone, just as simple as that. But what did I do? I removed the whole terrain - forever. As I'm currently having a project larger than 1GB, which is the maximum for Unity free users, I can not backup my project. So everyhing was lost and looked like the following:
For now there is just a plane meadow...
But good things, someone finally invented interdimensional travelling. That means I can finally change maps - well kinda. For now I only added 2 Maps as they are good for testing but nothing more. Still it's a quite nice result, loading times are currently still short and everything worked as expected. So just watch the following video if you want to see how the mapchange looks at the moment. Sadly there are also a lot of problems: I'm using a prefab for my laser pointer and that teleport preview. Those prefabs get destroyed if I load an other map. So I have to re-instantiate them. Sadly the same thing goes for my mirror body and possibly for any player (yet to confirm). So there is still a lot to do and learn.
