Slime Fern was added in the update 0.2.1.

Generation

It is found below y=40 in Slime Chunks in the Overworld. It generates in patches occupying a region of up to 4 x 5 x 4 blocks and has a default chance per chunk of 1 in 2. This lowers their occurrence when combined with the Slime Chunk check.

Behavior

Slime Ferns act as a visual indicator for Slime Chunks. They drip slime particles. It can be placed on all six sides on a block.

When Bone Meal is used on it in a Slime Chunk, it can create more Slime ferns on valid blocks in an area around it.

It can also be placed in a flower pot.
