Connecting monitors with the Surface Dock has had it's problems.

There is a lot of weird solutions to this issue. Methods maybe be/become outdated of course.

• Bought a £10 (4k) HDMI 1.2 to DV adapter from amazon
• Connected the (4k) HDMI port to the back of the monitor and DV port back of the Microsoft dock (brick)

OK so I restarted and loaded into windows, then restarted and back into ubuntu and it works now :| Hah, solutions like this are some of my favorite.

The issue is that the monitors need to be attached to the dock and the dock connected to the Surface Pro when booting. That's the only way it currently sees the screens, otherwise they won't be detected.
