• Find the expedition journal on one of the corpses and bring it to Lami, in Morthal
• Talk to Lami until she asks you to find her daughter
• Find Lastelle north of Morthal and talk to her to get started with Chapter 1: The Brood Maiden

Prelude - CCAS start as a Brood Maiden

• Start with Lastelle as your childhood friend
• Talk to her to get started with Chapter 1: The Brood Maiden

Immersive start - when traveling to Morthal

• Talk to Lami, the Apothecary, until she asks you to find her daughter
• Find Lastelle north of Morthal and talk to her to get started with Chapter 1: The Brood Maiden

Immersive start - after being infected by several parasites (chaurus worm, spider egg and creepy crawler) and healed by Danica PureSpring

• Talk to Danica about learning more about parasites
• She will reveal she has an apprentice, Lastelle of Morthal, who went back home and hasn't returned
• Go to Morthal and meet her mother, Lami, the Apothecary of Morthal
• Talk to Lami, the Apothecary, until she asks you to find her daughter
• Find Lastelle north of Morthal and talk to her to get started with Chapter 1: The Brood Maiden

Chapter 1: The Brood Maiden

• Talk to Lastelle and offer to help her protect her "babies"
• Collect scattered Chaurus eggs (at least 15)
• Go to Morthal and bring back a book about the Chaurus from Lastelle's mother's shop
• Prepare vials of Chaurus Pheromones and use them to capture a Chaurus Stud (north of the abandonned shack)
• Bring the Chaurus Stud to Lastelle
• Lastelle sends you to Whiterun to ask Danica about mating with the Chaurus
• Return to Lastelle and find her inside a cave under the mound where you first met her
• Lastelle asks you to find her more Chaurus eggs (up to 100)
• Lastelle asks you to find more books from the same author as the book about the Chaurus (Alicia Du'Skrimall)
• Go to the Apothecary in Solitude and follow the clues to Dragon Bridge, Karthwasten and from there, the abandonned fort of Harmugstahl
• Explore the fort and recover lab notes from Alicia Du'Skrimall (previous occupant of the fort)
• Return to Lastelle with the lab notes and a strange trinket - a Seed Stone
• Lastelle asks you to follow the footsteps of Alicia Du'Skrimall and go to Blackreach to find more notes she left behind in Sinderion's lab
• Head south of Winterhold for a hole in the ground called the Sightless Pit
• There, fight your way through Falmers and Chaurus to the altar of the Temple of Xrib (look around the altar to find another passage to Blackreach itself)
• Once you land in Blackreach, Sinderion's lab is nearby
• Recover the notes (and another Seed Stone) and head back to the surface using the nearby elevator
• Back to Lastelle's cave, discover what happened to Lastelle in your absence (spoilers!)

Chapter 2: Kyne's Blessing

• Go to Danica to tell her about Lastelle
• If you have a male character, this is the end of the story
• If you have a female character, talk to Danica to help Lastelle further
• Danica will first ask you to retrieve Nettlebane and heal the Gildergreen if you haven't done so
• Danica asks you to go sleep in caves until you get infected with BOTH a face hugger and a hip hugger
• Bring them back to Danica. She will remove your hip hugger and use it as a face hugger for herself
• Follow Danica in the underground Sanctuary below the Temple of Kynareth. The face huggers will help you resist the poisonous gas in the Sanctuary.
• Equip Nettlebane in either hand.
• Find and remove the source of the corruption on the Elder Roots inside the Sanctuary while Nettlebane is equiped.
• Return to Danica when you are done and ask her about the Elder Roots
• Go back to the Sanctuary and talk to the Elder Roots
• Collect the ingredients necessary for Kyne's Blessing, a powerful ritual that will help you make full use of the Seed Stone
• Complete the Ritual and talk to Danica afterwards

Chapter 3: The Queen of Chaurus

• Wait a few days for the effects to start kicking in (play for a few days... don't use the wait button)

At that point, you are meant to just go back on doing other quests and let things happen naturally. There will be two types of effects that will happen randomly, and more and more frequently. Once both types of effects have happened to you, you will receive a new quest objective.

Don't just use the wait menu to spend time.. that will not work. Events will happen as you are going about your business.

• Talk to Danica about what happened
• Brew a potion of Spider pheromones and mate with a Spider
• Talk to Danica about what happened after mating with a spider
• Seek advice from the Elder Roots about what to do next
• Brew a potion of Chaurus pheromones and mate with a Chaurus
• Report back to the Elder Roots about the effects of the Chaurus on the Seed
• Equip both your new Chaurus Armor and Mask and talk to the Elder Roots again
• Go to the Shrouded Grove and talk to the Elder Root avatar there
• Go to the nursery under Frostflow Lighthouse and talk to the Elder Root avatar there
• Jump into the waterfall to Blackreach and follow the trail of chaurus eggs and red Nirnroots to the statue of the Mother and the dimensional rift
• Go through the rift and talk to the Queen of Chaurus
• Pick up the key from the corpse near the Queen and return to the Silent City in Blackreach
• Find and activate the Tonal Device using the key
• Kill the Queen when she appears on Skyrim's side of the Rift
