How would you convince your organization about the importance of implementing a DLP solution?

I would explain that data has a monetary value even if it doesn't seem like it, especially confidential and sensitive data. By making sure this data is secure and making sure that we can retrieve will not only reduce downtime but also prevent the organization from losing money or being open to more destructive forces

How would you explain the three main use cases for DLP to friends or family?

First, your personal information you will be secure and you would be able to retrieve it in case it gets loss. Second your data will be more secure. Finally, it helps defend against malicious people trying to steal your personal data. Source What is Data Loss Prevention (DLP)?

I have not really heard of data loss prevention so I am curious to how it works and how it is different from backups and other back up tools.
