This project is free - full stop

No one should ever be making money off of this project. The goal is to make money in the market. If you contribute you should understand that your effort is going towards making better tools that will help you (and others) to be better market participants. There will never be any commercialization:

  • No premium" version
  • No ads
  • No required login BS so I can collect + resell your info

You get what you pay for

Video instructions being made on how to set this up, but this is not RobinHood. You won't be pressing 3 buttons and having 🎆 shooting on the screen.

There's an expectation that you will learn if you want to use these tools.

Why don't you add X,Y, and Z features?

Tips for getting your feature made:

  1. We are all volunteers. No one is going to just do it because you said so.
  2. If you have the skillset to get it started, do that. Put your money (so to speak) where your mouth is. If its not worth your time, why would it be worth mine?
  3. If you don't have the skills, invest effort in either pitching and giving people a sense of:
  • WHAT it is (mockups, description, etc.)
  • WHY it would help them (appeal to their self-interest)

TLDR: You want a feature? Make it happen or convince other people who can that its worth doing.

Why not a website?

That would involve bandwidth, storage, server time, etc. I'd either have to go out of pocket, e-beg for donations, run ads, etc. I don't like any of those options. Additionally, I like the idea of building this in a largely decentralized manner (you just need your browser and an internet connection).

What does the project need?

UI/UX

My idea of a nice page design is tables. Let's make this look awesome.

Data Visualization

Finding good ways to display + interpret is crucial.

Domain experts

Do you have experience in finance? Have you been trading for a while?

  1. What tools did you work with? Can we replicate them? What made them useful?
  2. What data should we be looking at? What are sources can we get access to?

Graphic designers

You guys help build awareness and make shit look awesome, spiffy, and polished. I've done some work, but I'm pretty limited. Icons, splash screens, etc. around our common theme would be sick.

People with none of the skills above:

The goal of this project is to make high grade tooling available to anyone. You can still help:

  1. Try setting things up and using it. I think the instructions are pretty good, but I'm also a SW engineer.
  2. Do you know any better sources of data than what I'm using?
  3. We need user feedback. Is what we're building useful?
