2. Dumping your own DLC (EU) - SilentHeII/Fire-Emblem-Fates-Festival-of-Bonds-Translation-Project GitHub Wiki

Overview

Since we now have the Japanese assets, we need our own DLC to build off of. This section will help those who have the European versions, dump their DLC. But, before we actually go into the tutorial, you need to know which DLC you even need to dump in the first place. If you actually bought the DLC, this process is fairly simple, just copy-paste all the DLC. However, if you for some reason, downloaded the DLC using FBI, you may notice there are more DLC files in your folder than there are actually released, 62 in total. That is because the other items are actually dummy slots that would probably have been used for future DLC. Based on this fact, you can actually utilize these slots for custom DLC! This is in essence what we are going to do when we rebuild the DLC with the Festival DLC. So, which DLC files do you need?

Here is a quick rundown of what each .app contains and which slot they take up of the 62 present in the Dragon's Gate:

Slot occupied NCCH Container Contents of DLC
0 00000062.app Icons and info for Dragon's Gate
1 00000001.app Fire Emblem Fates:Birthright
2 00000002.app Fire Emblem Fates:Conquest
3 00000003.app Fire Emblem Fates:Revelations

10 00000045.app Boo Camp
11 00000049.app Museum Melee
12 00000046.app Beach Brawl
13 0000004b.app Royal Royale
14 0000003b.app Before Awakening
15 0000004d.app Hidden Truths 1
16 0000004e.app Hidden Truths 2

40 00000052.app Anna on the Run

56 0000005c.app I: In Endless Dreams
57 0000005d.app II: Realms Collide
58 0000005e.app III: The Changing Tide
59 00000063.app IV: Light's Sacrifice
60 00000064.app V: Endless Dawn
61 00000065.app End: Lost in the Waves

Also, depending on which version of the game you're playing, you don't need certain story DLC (e.g. If you're playing on a Birthright cartridge, it's redundant and a waste of storage space to dump the Birthright DLC.)

So, if you're playing on Birthright, you need:

2, 3, 45, 46, 48, 49, 4b, 4d, 4e, 50, 52, 54, 55, 57, 59, 5c, 5d, 5e, 62, 63, 64, 65

If you're playing on Conquest, you need:

1, 3, 45, 46, 48, 49, 4b, 4d, 4e, 50, 52, 54, 55, 57, 59, 5c, 5d, 5e, 62, 63, 64, 65

And if you're playing on the Special Edition, you only need:

45, 46, 48, 49, 4b, 4d, 4e, 50, 52, 54, 55, 57, 59, 5c, 5d, 5e, 62, 63, 64, 65

Now that you know which DLC's you need to dump...let's dump them!

Dumping the EU DLC:

  1. Hold (Start) to power on your 3DS and boot into GodMode9.
  2. Navigate to SYSNAND SD/title/0004008c/00179500/content/00000000.
  3. Press (L) to highlight the 000000XX.app files you need as mentioned above.
  4. Press (Y) to copy them to the clipboard.
  5. Go back and select SDCARD and go into your DLC directory.
  6. Press (Y) to paste the files into the folder. This may take a minute.
  7. Last but not least, we need to decrypt all the .app files in our DLC directory. (This includes the Japanese DLC). Use (L) to highlight every single .app file in the DLC directory.
  8. Once you're done highlighting all of them, press (A) and select NCCH image options... and then Decrypt file (...). Select Decrypt inplace and you will be prompted to decrypt all highlighted files. Press (A). This process will take a minute.

That's it. Now you're ready to path the Japanese DLC.
