Material Grader - SilentChaos512/SilentGems GitHub Wiki
Quick Facts
- Found in Minecraft 1.12.2 and lower
- Consumes chaos (old system)
The Material Grader is a block that will "analyze" tool parts (such as gems), assigning them a random grade that will boost their stats. Any item that says "Grade: None" in the tooltip can be graded, even items from other mods.
Usage
The Grader has a single input slot and four output slots. Items can be inserted and extracted with hoppers, pipes, etc. It also requires Chaos to function, so place it near Node(s) and/or Pylon(s). It will not lose progress if it runs out of Chaos, but it will slow down.
Grades
Possible grades are (lowest to highest): E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS. Grade 'B' is the most common, with grades further from B being less and less common. For the mathematically-inclined, grades are normally distributed with a mean of B and a standard deviation of 1.5 grades.
The chance of seeing SS or SSS in survival without a lot of grinding is low, but I won't stop you from trying. Just remember that all grades, even E, give a bonus to all part stats. Note that there is normally no way to uncraft supercharged gems. Other materials may be exploitable though.
