This block was removed in 1.16

The crafting station is an upgraded crafting table. It has a modest internal inventory for storing frequently used items. A common use is for storing blueprints, but you can use the space for anything.

Unlike the vanilla crafting table, the crafting station will keep items in its crafting grid when closing the interface. This also means it cannot be used by multiple players at once, and other players can see what is being crafted.

Minecraft 1.12.2

In Minecraft 1.12.2, the crafting station also contains a few extra slots to streamline gear crafting somewhat. These slots will accept any gear parts except mains. When crafting a tool head in the main grid, these parts will be applied in an attempt to construct a complete tool in one operation.

In Minecraft 1.13.2 and higher, these extra slots are gone. Additional parts can instead be placed in the crafting grid, or crafted into the tool head afterwards, as in earlier versions.
