Overview:

• The RehabEdge application is a web and mobile based platform designed to support patients in performing their prescribed physical therapy exercises effectively at home. Many patients struggle to maintain correct posture, remember exercise routines, or stay consistent between clinic visits.

• RehabEdge addresses these challenges through the integration of edge-based AI technology, which uses the device’s camera to analyze patient movements in real time and provide posture correction feedback.

Problem statement:

• Patients undergoing physical therapy are often required to perform exercises independently at home between clinic visits. However, most patients forget their routines, misplace written instructions, or misunderstand verbal directions. Generic videos or handouts fail to ensure correct posture and consistent adherence.

• As a result, patients frequently miss therapy sessions, perform exercises incorrectly, or stop when discomfort occurs. The lack of real-time feedback leads to slow recovery and possible re-injury.

• From the doctor’s perspective, progress data relies on patient self-reporting, which is often incomplete or inaccurate. Without reliable insight into home performance, doctors cannot effectively track patient adherence, posture, or progress, making it difficult to adjust treatment plans efficiently.
