DUT Settings - SiLab-Bonn/tjmonopix-daq GitHub Wiki

This page summarizes the different front-end settings for the TJ-MonoPix chip.

Current settings

The currents are set from a 128-bit DAC using thermometer encoding. Active bits should be set starting from the middle, e.g. for a current setting of 12 DAC units: 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001111111111110000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

ICASN

This current controls the output baseline. Recommended value: 0 to 10. The value should not be too high. If the power consumption of VDDD is several mA, decrease ICASN.

IRESET

This current controls the reset rate of the output. Recommended value 29 in mode 0. The option to specify the mode (0 or 1) allows for larger range of values.

ITHR

This current controls the reset rate of the output of the front-end. Adjust accordingly to fit the whole spectrum into the ToT range (0 to 63).

IDB

This current controls the biasing of the discriminator. It is used mainly for changing the threshold. Reasonable values are in the order of 15 to 50.

IBIAS

This current is the DC current of the main branch of the front-end and controls mainly the rise time. Recommended value: 45.

Voltage settings

Voltages are set from a 128-bit DAC with one-hot encoding.

VRESET

This voltage is the baseline of the front-end input. Recommended value: 35
