Quick Disclaimer: These tips are with the assumption that the player owns most if not all expansion up to living world season 4. As always there are multiple methods of getting said items but we will showcase the best ways to get them in this guide.

Weapons

Path of Fire Specialization Collection is by the far the easiest and quickest collection for ascended weapons across all three expensions; whilst they just require you to play the game and purchase a couple items at heart vendors and can be done within a day.

Caladbolg Reforged (Knight of the Thorn sub-quest after Heart of Thorns Storyline): Dagger, Scepter, Sword, Shield, Greatsword By obtaining the first, you get a chance to swap them into the other versions at will with stat-reset option. Probably the most useful ascended weapon in the game.

Trinkets

Hard to say the best way to get Trinkets based on person to person, whether you want the cheapest way or the quickest. Each map allows you to purchase an ascended trinket with just a few gold and the map currency like unbound / volatile magic and or material such as brandstone or orian pearls. If you don't want to move from map to map by the far the best is to go Bitterfrost Frontier as the map requires winterberry farming and has multiple trinkets to purchase including a rebreather should you want to buy one.

Rurik's Engagement Ring

If you own the Ember Bay map (LW3 Rising Flames), you can purchase Strange Rock from TP and do the small scavange-hunt on the map. The reward is a stat-select ascended ring. Technically the only piece of ascended gear that can be bought on TP. If you are not going for fractals or do not mind losing one infusion-slot, get two of them and upgrade one further than the other. Infusion / Attunement

Sparkling Petrified Wood (Petrified Wood Farm):

While you are already on the Ember Bay map, you can grab this Earring from the currency vendor.

Bitterfrost Frontier (Winterberry farm):

Ring, Earring, Backpack, Aquabreather as a bonus, if you really want FULL ascended.

Armor

Regarding ascended armor, it is by far quicker to craft with your chosen profession than it is to play for it.

Crafting

Crafting is the best and sure way of getting Ascended Armor. Whilst yes you can get occasional rare drops from Raids, Strikes of Fractals. The drop rate happens to be so low and the chest tend to have a few selectable stats that it is better to craft the armor based on the stats you are looking for.
