In this lab we learned and translated ASCII to Hexadecimal, Binary, and Decimal. I also learned how Hexadecimal is used in my Device Manager.

Component-Motherboard- Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard
Quantity- 1
Price- $161.49
Rationale: The reason I chose this motherboard was for multiple reasons. One of those reasons is because it is a great motherboard for the price, with lots of capabilities for only $160. It has an easy bios from the reviews I read on pcpartpicker.com, it uses an AM4 socket which is what I need for my CPU, supports up to 128GB of memory for future upgrades, supports DDR4 3200, lots of ports for extra storage for future upgrades, and a nice little bonus is the built in WIFI.
Component- CPU- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
Quantity-1
Price- $214.99
Rationale- This whole build I centered around this CPU. I have this CPU in my personal rig and it has worked like a dream since the day I got it. It is an 8-core processor, running speeds of 3.7 GHz from factory. I personally have mine overclocked at 4 GHz. 4 GHz is a very reasonable speed for this CPU, as well as a very reliable speed, that is fast enough for anything you throw at it. This CPU is also 16 thread. This CPU in my experience can run as many programs as I have ever thrown at it with not struggle whatsoever. I rarely see it go above 30% load on task manager when running AAA games at 60FPS, as well as multiple programs running in the background. This CPU comes with a stock cooler as well, that is very good that I kept for a long time and it at very low temps the whole time. (Im also an AMD guy)
Component- CPU cooler- be quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler
Quantity- 1
Price - $74.90
Rationale- I know we are not supposed to focus on CPU coolers on this build, but I absolutely had to include this CPU cooler. I give this CPU cooler 6/5 stars any day of the week. It has a VERY meaty heat soak as well as many fans, and I never hear it. My CPU (Ryzen 7 2700x) temps never go above 35 degrees celsius no matter what I do with my PC. This CPU also isnt as expensive as an AIO cooler and not as much maintenance.
Component- Memory- Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
Quantity- 1 (4x16GB sticks)
Price- 301.99
Rationale- This RAM has great reviews everywhere I look. It runs at 3200 MHz and honestly this much ram might be a bit overkill. However, I have the money for lots of RAM, so I am going to use that money for lots of RAM. It has a latency of 10 nanoseconds as well as it has some cool RGB. My personal rig only has 16 GB of DDR4 Ram and I rarely need more.
Component- Storage- ADATA Ultimate SU800 128 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Quantity- 1
Price- $25.99
Rationale- I chose this SSD over my other options for no reason other than the absolute killer price. This drive I would use solely as a boot drive and this SSD would do the trick just as good as any other SSD. This SSD is a 2.5” SATA connection at 6 GB/s transfer rate. At first I was looking at a samsung 256GB SSD that was just as good but it was over 200 dollars.
Component- Western Digital Black 6 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Quantity- 1
Price- $155.99
Rationale- This Hard Drive brought me $44 over budget, however for good reason. I wanted a 6TB Hard drive as a main drive on this build. I could make the budget work with 6TB but I would have to sacrifice the speeds of the hard drive. In my old gaming rig, I had a hard drive with a 5400RPM disk speed and it was so slow compared to 7200RPM I have in my current rig. The difference is night and day. This HDD has a 256 MB cache which is actually really good. People also rave about this HDD on pcpartpicker.com
Component- OS- Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
Quantity- 1
Price- 108.78
Rationale- The reason I chose Windows 10 as my Operating System is simply because most programs have compatibility with Windows 10, whereas on Linux, sometimes programs aren’t supported. I also think that windows is a much more refined system with more features.
