Welcome to the Raspberry Pi Wiki!
What is it?
The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized, fully functional computer. The purposes of the Raspberry Pi are vast, ranging from homemade micro-controllers to mobile physics data collector. Since it's release in 2012, Raspberry Pi has released a handful of models. This wiki will focus on the Raspberry Pi 2. The software and coding present in this wiki should be relevant to other versions. The Raspberry Pi 2 (usually shortened to Pi 2) is powered by micro-usb, and includes 4 usb ports, an ethernet port, an HDMI port, a micro SD slot, and 40 GPIO pins.
Why it's useful.
The Pi really shines in it's compactness, and the fact that it requires no other electronics or input to run. Much of the code present in this repository is used to allow the Pi to be used in scientific experiments. With an assortment of sensors available to purchase for a Pi, it can be turned into an extremely powerful data collection device.
