Meeting 1: Use Case Discovery & Direction Setting

  • When: September
  • Duration: 60 min
  • Goal: Define target areas in SasView relevant to Life Science, based on user needs and expert input.

Agenda:

  • Overview of current SasView functionality from the Life Science perspective
  • Participants: Open to everyone. Invitations will be sent to the developers' list and a few individuals (at least listed below).
  • Short presentations/discussion by invited experts and users
  • Identify: Common pain points or gaps in current SasView use for life sciences.Specific use cases or research workflows to support. Early candidate features or tools to focus on
  • Output: Prioritized themes or tools to target. Draft candidate project list with names of potential mentors/leads. Set up a dedicated Slack thread or GitHub Discussion for async planning

Meeting 2 (depending on how the first goes): Final Project Definition & Contributor Camp Prep

  • When: Mid to late October
  • Duration: 60-75 min
  • Goal: Finalize the set of contributor-ready projects and confirm team roles and responsibilities for the Contributor Camp.

Agenda:

  • Review and refine draft project plans
  • Assign leads/mentors for each project
  • Discuss any supporting docs (specs, examples, mockups)
  • Output: 1–3 scoped and documented projects ready for the Contributor Camp. Contributor onboarding materials
