Dimensions
The following dimensions and dimension changes are implemented in Ladybird. Be very careful traveling to another dimension, as every one is filled with fresh horrors.
The Nether
The Nether has had many improvements to its generation and content.
Nether Portals
- Can now be made with crying obsidian, or a mix of regular and crying
- Can now be one size smaller (4x4 with a 2x2 opening)
- Can be used to create a randomized dimension (see Infinite Dimensions)
- Now will "bleed" into the world, corrupting blocks around them.
- Piglins and Hoglins who follow you through no longer zombify in the overworld (unless they have the Weakened status)
New Content
Noncomprehensively, the nether has:
- New biomes
- New mobs
- New structures
- New dungeons
- New trials
Otherside
Part of Deeper and Darker, the Otherside is an expansion of the Deep Dark into a new dimension. From the about page: Deeper and Darker adds an entire new dimension — the Otherside — with much content to explore. Here's a list with some of the features!
- Biomes: explore the deeplands, echoing forest, overcast columns, and blooming caverns.
- Structure: find an ancient temple, the home of the warden! Just be cautious when breaking the ancient vases to avoid awakening an ancient lurker.
- Blocks: over a hundred new blocks to build, including gloomslate, sculk stone, and a new wood type!
- Items: a brand-new warden set of armor and tools, an upgrade to elytra and the awesome sculk transmitter!
- Mobs: 8 new mobs, including a miniboss!
To Enter
Kill a Warden, it will drop a Warden Heart. Create a standing portal with 4x4 reinforced deepslate (a 2x2 opening). The Warden Heart is used to light the portal like flint and steel.
Infinite Dimensions
Infinite Dimensions is a mod that generates random dimensions as many times as you can afford to create portals for it. These dimensions can be completely random or Easter Egg dimensions that are preset. They can be filled with a multitude of structures and Biomes just like the overworld, and can be generated with bizarre geography, physics, and other reality-warping effects!
- Randomized Dimensions can even have coordinate scaling like the Nether. Up to Nether-length distances (8 blocks of overworld per 1 block traveled) can occur.
- To "Name" your dimension you can use the Areas mechanic.
To create a portal:
- Create a Nether Portal (optional: a backing helps)
- Write and title a new book using a Book and Quill. Whatever you write is the 'seed' for the portal.
- Throw the book into the portal (the book is destroyed. Remember or write down its contents if you need to.). It will change color and now be a portal to the new dimension.
- The portal must be unlocked by using a Diamond on it before it can be used. The Diamond gets consumed.
- Another portal made with the same exact book (text and title) will lead to the same dimension.
Outer Space
Through the mod, Stellaris, you can visit moons and planets! See the Stellaris page for more info. The planets available right now are all within our solar system. They are:
- The Moon
- Mars
- Mercury
- Venus
Planets have multiple biomes, structures, new ores and blocks, and aliens to encounter. Be Warned: visiting other planets is dangerous, and should be heavily prepared for! However, it is not technically "End Game" content as such, because you can visit a planet as early as getting your first diamond, and can prepare for it simply by mining an abundance available resources and carefully preparing with supplies using the Stellaris mod's machines.
