SMDB - Sam's Movie Database - is a web application created by Sampsa Kares for a PHP course in Laurea University of Applied Sciences.

The idea of the application is to have a database of movies. In this database, the users can search movies by genre and that way discover movies they might like.

Features

• Search movies by genre. All official movie genres from IMDb (Internet Movie Database) are available.

• Adding new movies to the database.

• Deleting existing movies, but only admin users can delete movies added by someone else.

• Movies can have an embedded YouTube trailer. The site automatically transforms normal web links into embedded links.

• Admin users have a special tool within the app to give the normal users the admin status.
