Don't pay anything in advance, without seeing the landlord and the house.

House hunt websites

What you need to do

• Always call to schedule a visit, they usually ignore emails
• They will inform you when it is and after the visit they will tell you how you should inform them that you want the house
• You will need to gather the documents (Contract, Visa, etc) and send to them

Requirements

• Work contract
• BSN
• ID/Passport
• Money (usually 2 months deposit for first time renting + 1st month in advance)

Obs: Usually it takes around one month to find a house

Options

• Furnished: House comes with everything related to furniture
• Unfurnished: Hose usually comes with the kitchen but nothing else
• Shell: House comes without the flooring/furniture, it can include the kitchen utensils, you are required to install it and remove/sell when you leave, not the best option to pick as first house
