Steps

1. First calculate how much you can borrow, usually it is around 4.5 to 5.5 times your salary
2. Find a nice property on Funda
3. Bid on the house
4. Fail miserably
5. Go Back to step 2 until you get your bid accepted
6. If you manage to outbid (usually around 15k-20k outside Amsterdam)
7. Get a inspection report (not required) it will tell you about the house conditions and the repairs that needs to be done
8. Sign the bidding contract which will tell you when you get the keys
9. Get the house valuated (you need it for the mortgage, it will say how much the property is worth)
10. Go to the bank (you have to pay bank fees anyway, around €1.5k) or hire a mortgage advisor
11. Sign the final contract at the notary, pay everything and everyone then get the house keys.
