Fertile Farmland acts like vanilla farmland, but it doesn't require water to stay hydrated, it can't be trampled, and sugar cane can grow on it without an adjacent water block. To obtain the Fertile soil you need to craft Compost first. You need to put the compost near water to obtain the Fertile Soil. With the fertile soil interact with a hoe on top to obtain fertile farmland.

Compost

In order to obtain fertile soil, you must first compost the compost.

Crafting can only vary in the sapling slot. You can use compostable items.

In order to continue with the process you must place the compost with water nearby. If there is no water the process will not advance. This will produce fertile soil

Fertile Soil

Once you have this fertile soil you must use a hoe on the top to transform it into fertile farmland.

With this new soil you will be able to plant vanilla crops and addon crops without using water.
