  1. Firstly you should enable SSH into your ESXi Server. You can do this by going to your ESXi web client, go to hosts, go to services, and then finally enable secure shell.
  2. SSH into your ESXi server with your IP and credentials. Once in type, "esxtop," Document what you see and try to figure out exactly what the outcome is.
  3. Now head to your vCenter and create a host profile. The steps involved include right clicking your ESXi host, selecting Host Profiles, and then Extract Host Profile.
  4. The next step involves editing the host profile we just extracted. To do this we have to go to shortcuts, then to Host Profiles, you should be able to see the host profile you have have just extracted, and edit the desired settings.
  5. Now you get to choose what setting you want to change. Recommended to unselect everything first and then check what you want to change.
  6. Attach the new host profile (after you have saved the changes you have made) to the ESXi server you have and test for compliance.
  7. Once it has finally complied, re-mediate. Now you may log into your ESXi server and check to see if changes have occurred.
